Top 2 Great Things About The 2018 Fall Season

One common statement during the last quarter of the year is “whew, this year went fast.” Indeed, time presses forward unapologetically. Notice the below happenings that many people anticipate and enjoy during autumn:

Birmingham, AL. As you travel within The Magic City you will see that entrepreneurship is vibrant. Revitalization of once forgotten neighborhoods is a reality. The food scene has momentum and often receives national accolades. Nowadays, eating at food trucks is trendy (and yummy). Further, the celebrity sporting event, Iron City Showdown, came to town and could arguably be the event of the year. Birmingham showed up and cheered loudly for the Houston Rockets. Let us be hopeful that the proposed downtown stadium and renovation of the Legacy Arena will come to fruition and be huge revenue generators. Furthermore, Alabama football  – UAB Blazers, Alabama Crimson Tide, Alabama State Hornets, Alabama A & M Bull Dogs and Auburn Tigers – is back. For those Magic City Classic fans out there, we see you and thank you for the economic impact you have made uninterrupted for over 75 years. Yes, we have a lot to experience and look forward to Birmingham!

Time of Preparation. Soon the IRS will announce the start date of the 2019 tax season. Will this anticipated first day be in January or February? While we await this information, review your Taxpayers Bill of Rights, COPE your tax records, perform a “Paycheck Checkup” using the IRS’s withholding calculator and properly vet your tax preparer.

In many respects, fall is the cozy part of year. The warm colors and cooler weather have us “in our feelings.” In many cases, we finish strong and reach many milestones. As each day passes, we eagerly anticipate the hope and happiness of the new year  – as we should. Best wishes!
